Total Philippines and Ayala Foundation Commit to Road Safety Education

Total Philippines (TPC) has partnered with Ayala Foundation to educate elementary school children on road safety principles and traffic rules this school year.

Safety is one of the core values of the Total Group and is a shared responsibility of employees and our partners, and must be applied at all levels and within the community. As a major global player in the mobility sector and a long-time road safety champion, the Total Group is a member of the Global Road Safety Partnership and a signatory to the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020.

As part of this commitment, CENTEX Elementary School, an Ayala Foundation partner public school located in Tondo, one of the mostly densely populated areas in Metro Manila, will be part of the road safety program.

Using the RSAFE Cube and its educational materials, the students will learn to follow road rules, to move around safely and to protect themselves at all times through an engaging combination of discussion and classroom activities.

TPC’s Managing Director, Laurent Stouffe said, “We are proud to once again partner with Ayala Foundation, especially on this very important topic. Along with Education, Economic Development, and Access to Energy, Road Safety is one of the Group’s CSR priorities. This program aims to not only educate the students but also their families and friends, thereby influencing close to 1,500 individuals committed to road safety. By raising awareness on road safety, we are investing in our community. And by educating our children, we are investing in the future.”

Total ensures that they make a positive contribution to communities wherein it operates. Other than road safety, the Total Group is also involved in other societal projects in the areas of Forests and Climate, Youth Inclusion and Education, and Cultural Dialogue and Heritage.
